Deep Cleaning Guide for Egyptian Cotton Duvet Cover
Known for its extra-long fibers and exceptional softness, Egyptian cotton is the material of choice for high-end bedding. To maintain the quality and comfort of your Egyptian cotton duvet cover, it is essential to perform a proper deep cleaning. Deep cleaning not only removes surface dirt, but also treats stubborn stains that are deep in the fibers, restoring the fabric's shine and softness.

Before any cleaning, you should first carefully read the care label on your Egyptian cotton duvet cover. The care label provides detailed information from the manufacturer on wash temperatures, recommended detergent types, and precautions that can be followed to avoid damaging the duvet cover.
Remove the duvet cover from the bed and inspect for visible stains. Depending on the type of stain (e.g., oil, blood, juice, etc.), different pre-treatment methods may be available. Sort and treat each type of stain one by one to ensure optimal cleaning results.

Oil stains are usually more difficult to remove and should be treated as soon as possible. First, gently blot excess oil from the surface with a paper towel. Then, use a bleach-free stain remover or a cleaner specifically for oil stains. You can sprinkle a layer of baby powder or corn starch on the stain, let it sit for 15-30 minutes, then gently brush it off and wipe it with a damp cloth.

Blood stains should be rinsed immediately with cold water to prevent it from setting. Soak the duvet cover in cold water and rub it gently. Hydrogen peroxide can be used for treatment, but it should be tested on a hidden area first to ensure that it will not discolor or damage the fabric.
For coffee or tea stains, a mixture of white vinegar and water (1:1) can be used. Dip a clean cloth or sponge in the mixture and gently pat the stained area, then rinse it with cold water.
Sprinkle salt or baking soda on the stain, let it sit for 15 minutes, and then gently scrub it with a brush. Afterwards, wash it with warm water and laundry detergent.
Choose a detergent suitable for cotton fabrics and avoid products with bleach or strong chemical ingredients. Choose fragrance-free or hypoallergenic laundry detergent to protect the natural texture of the fabric.

Soak the duvet cover in warm water before deep cleaning. Use an appropriate amount of detergent dissolved in water, stir it well to make it uniform, then put the quilt cover in the soaking pool and let it sit for 30 minutes. This helps loosen and dissolve stains that are deeply embedded in the fiber.
Hand wash: Gently rub the quilt cover, especially the stained area. Avoid excessive rubbing to avoid damaging the fiber. Rinse thoroughly with clean water until the detergent is completely removed.Machine wash: Put the quilt cover in a special laundry bag in the washing machine and choose a gentle mode suitable for cotton fabrics. Set warm water to wash and avoid high temperature to prevent fiber shrinkage. Use an appropriate amount of laundry detergent and don't overdo it. Whether it is hand washing or machine washing, the rinsing step is crucial. Make sure to rinse the quilt cover thoroughly with plenty of clean water to remove all residual detergent. Residual detergent may cause skin irritation or fabric stiffness.
